Artist Bio

Ana grew up the sixth of eleven children in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Before working as a full-time artist, she studied and worked in graphic design for two-and-a-half years at Louisiana State University and for the three years following. She continued her degree at the University of Houston in 2002, graduating with a bachelor’s of science in psychology and a minor in art history in 2003. After moving from Baton Rouge to Houston, Texas, in 1999, she lived in London and Nashville, Tennessee, before returning to Houston in 2007. From 2007 to 2016 she studied painting, drawing, photography, and printmaking at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston’s Glassell School of Art before and after the birth of her first child. In 2016 she relocated to Brussels, Belgium, had a second child, and continued her art there. Now, back in Houston, she has a studio in her attic where she can paint as home at her leisure.
